 After finishing at Long Road, I am going to complete an Art Foundation course either at Long Road or at Cambridge Regional College, in this year I am hoping to build my art skills in particular digital work and animation. Alongside this I will be setting up my own website which will feature all my work created in this course and any previous work from sixth form I believe is relevant. After the Foundation Course I want to complete the Games Art course at Norwich University of the Arts as I believe this course is best suited for me and my future career. I am not 100% what I want to do after University, but of course i would like to find work, hopefully at an independent games company.

As a short term plan I want spend the next few 6 moths (summer 2017) practicing a range of skills that will assist me in achieving a career in concept art or games design. These skills include:

• basic frame-by-frame animation (traditionally & digitally)
• human/animal anatomy (I also want to attend life drawing classes)
• expressions/poses (in order to create character references)
• digital art (line art & colouring techniques)
• creating larger traditional pieces (fuller coloured & lined, using water colours, Copic's etc.)

My medium plan would be to complete an Art Foundation course and then attend University (preferably NUA), this would be a total of 5 years, finishing in 2022. In this 5 years I hope to further increase my portfolio and have a huge range of knowledge for professional programs used in the industry including Maya and Photoshop.

My long term plan would be to eventually end up working for an independent games company, hopefully in or near London, however I would be more than happy to travel abroad. In fact I hope that along with the job I get opportunities to visit other countries and experience new cultures and meet new people. This will all broaden my ideas and I will be able to use the environments and stories to influence my art work.

As a contingency plan, I could work as a freelance artist, gaining work through online interaction on websites such as Twitter and also creator specific sites like Patreon. For the extra income I would continue my job as sales assistance at Charles Tyrwhitt in Cambridge.

This career plan addresses the weaknesses I identified and allows me to develop them as it gives me the time and access to the programs. Also throughout my education I will be surrounded by professionals and teachers in the field and also other students that are passionate in the areas that I am.
