1)
2) Evaluation
Strengths - My strongest resources are definitely my funding and materials; I am lucky to have a high paying part time job and I own the majority of the resources that I have noted at home. I also own a moped and am looking to learn to drive a car over the next year or two therefore I have multiple personal transport options. Also I live very close to 3 separate train stations meaning travel to larger cities such as London or Norwich in order to find work is relatively easy for me.
Weaknesses - My biggest weakness would have to be my online presence; while I am a frequent user of several social media sites I rarely upload my artwork as they are centred around my personal life instead. Also I do not have a huge amount of experience in the line of work I am looking to get into and this is an extremely important factor when applying for professional careers.
Opportunity - In terms of funding I have several options as an artist in order to gain money in order to continue to work and improve, this includes websites such as Patreon and schemes such as Kickstarters. These are also a great way to put myself out on the market. Using new materials and software I constantly have the opportunity to improve and expand my abilities as well as my ideas.
Threats - The media industry is extremely competitive, therefore it is important I spend as much time as I can developing my ability in order to have a large skill set. Also, I would not have access to programs such as Maya at home so it will be difficult to improve my 3D modelling skills.
3) Resources Plan
The most useful resources are my equipment and education; these two go hand in hand as I can use the information I learn during courses and apply it to the work completed at home. Experience is also very important as it gives a professional perspective and real life insight into the industry. To make the best use of my resources (particularly funding) I will be sure continuously create and always share the work online, which increases the chance of being spotted and possibly hired. To find new resources I will invest in higher quality equipment and programs, I will also search for opportunities to work with new materials and software to discover which is best suited for my style. I will always be in the lookout for visitation opportunities and work experience to gain knowledge of the industry.
