1)

a) My personal skills include excellent time keeping skills; I am currently working in retail in the Cambridge town centre, so it is crucial I arrive on time in order to complete my duties within my shift. I would say I am a very social person, I meet with friends at least once each week whether it's to watch a film in the cinema, support local bands or just have tea around one another's houses. I am currently partaking in 3 subjects at sixth form college; an Art and Design A level, a 120 Media Diploma and Extended Project, this of course means I need to successfully manage my time. In order to stay on top of my work, I am sure to completed any assigned home work on the day I receive it, I also make sure to assign time at home in finishing work in order to stay on track.

b) In terms of soft skills, I pride myself in being very creative, ever since I was young I have always loved coming up with new ideas, whether it be for a fictional story for English Language or an elaborate pen drawing for Art. I also always make sure my presentation is of the highest possible standard, first impressions count, so seeing a project has been displayed with confidence and professionalism is very important. Throughout my education I have worked with a huge variety of people on a large amount of projects and each time we have all collaborated well in order to produce successful pieces of work. I am able to share my ideas and explain them fully to my other workmates while also listening to their input and combine more than one idea. This is a crucial skill as it means I can allow my ideas to be altered and also all group members will feel included and appreciated meaning they will put more effort in to produce higher quality work.

My hard skills include an extensive knowledge for artistic supplies, I am most comfortable working with pencils, fine liner pens and water colours, however I am open and willing to use any media in order to branch out and expand my creative ideas. I am able to apply these skills to practical work such as story boards and character design, both important planning elements for larger projects. I am also very comfortable with writing scripts and the more literary elements within media for example, recce reports and risk assessments. I also have an extensive knowledge of programs in the Adobe suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Using these tools I have made my own digital wall paper, designed an infographic and my own emojis. I have also created a 2 minute long animation complete with soundtrack, sound effects and completely original assets combining traditional and digital media.

c) I have completed a CBT and have purchased my own 50cc moped; having my own personal transport means I am independent and able to move around easily and efficiently without having to rely on public transport or other people.

d) I currently work as a sales assistant at Charles Tyrwhitt in the Grande Arcade in Cambridge. I have a variety of jobs including working on the register, aiding customers in finding and choosing products and general shop floor management. Having a part time job has definitely boosted my confidence and independence and earning my own money means I can save towards my future particularly university.

In 2016 I took part in a Game Jam as part of my Media Diploma; me and 3 classmates visited CRC in order to create a game over 2 days. As the primary asset designer it was an incredibly helpful experience as having a strict schedule and deadline allowed me to carefully plan what I would do each day and work as quickly as i could whilst still producing a good quality product. These are all aspects mirrored in the industry; companies will have to work together in order to meet deadlines.

In late 2016 I got the chance to visit Chuckle Fish Studios, an independent games creation and production studio in London. I was able to observe everyone at work and see how all their unique skills combined to produce excellent games. It was an amazing experience and really motivated to work hard and strive towards my goal of becoming a concept artist for an Indie company much like Chuckle Fish.

2) My strengths most certainly lie with traditional art and design, I am always creating new and innovative characters and stories. I would also say I am good at general presentation and graphics; my work is always up to standard and visually appealing.I also pride myself in being versatile and able to take a risk in order to develop and grow, whether this is experimenting with a completely new media or learning a new software on the computer

3) Qualities I wish to develop:

- 3D modelling (specifically polygonal modelling in Maya)
- animation (animating in general but mostly 2D both using cels & digital programs e.g. Photoshop)
- digital colour (creating finished pieces of art not just sketches)
- water colours
- sculpture (clay models of characters, in order to help visualise a design as a physical being)
- anatomy (humans and animals alike)
- environments
- understanding of light & colour theory
